If you draw near to God, there’s always something for you. Draw near. Often times we assume that the Lord is too busy to hear us or attend to our needs, but the question is how much closer have you come to him?

For eg: if we’re seated in a rowdy audience at the end of each point, to hear ourselves amidst the noise, we much come much closer to each other to hear ourselves, sometimes, too close just enough to whisper in the ear what you want the other person to hear. How much more when we want to get through to God?
Now, have you ever wondered what if the problem is me? I mean, we always want to be right at all times that perhaps we’ve missed out on times when we’re woefully wrong.
Biblical clue: James 4:8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.
Other scriptures for reference: Zech.1:3, Mal.3:7.
From the scripture above, the communication line was cut off from our end. You’ve refused to hear the instructions of God because you are still afar; you’ve not drawn closer. We’ve not received because the distance between us and God is huge
Jer.33:3 Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.
God is always ready and willing to answer us, but how much have we asked him? How much exactly have we sought him? You’d say God speaks to them but not to me why? I ask you, how much time do you spend with God exactly to hear him? If he speaks to you now, would you know his voice?
John 10:27 my sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
It is someone that has spent quality time with God that knows his voice. You don’t expect the intimacy a person who’s given God 3 hours of their time daily and your breeze in 5 minutes checkup with God to be the same, Come on!

When you love someone, you check up on them daily through calls, text messages or chats, sometimes we go to the extents of video calls or dropping voice notes, that shows the extent to which the person matters to you. How much more God! Or do you think he doesn’t need your affection?
Oh dear! Haven’t you read Revelation 4:11 Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.
You and I were created particularly for his pleasure. He is interested in having that relationship with you. You can do anything for the one you love, maybe not totally everything depending on how much you love that person, do you think loving God requires less? For the person who fashioned you and imbibed in you those qualities you portray; I’m certain he demands your love, time, attention, care, communication, commitment, trust, faith etc. which of these can you say you sufficiently meet up with?
Come Closer!
1 Corinthians 2:9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
In spite of all the hurdles going on around the world currently, God is calling you to come CLOSER. The best time to start a love relationship with the Lord is now. Study the Word, Pray, pray some more, listen to the voice of your heart, he always speaks to us, silence every thought rising in your heart as you have fellowship with him. Bask in his love; shower him with love, worship, thanksgiving, affection… Start a love relationship today; he’s put everything on hold just to get your attention.
Food for thought:
James 4:8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.
Psalm 145:18 The Lord is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth.
The time is always right for anyone still breathing. Dearly beloved, if you’ve not met the Lord, or you’ve met him at some point and left him when crisis came along or when you felt he didn’t answer you as he ought to, and you want to come close today, you are just in time.
Receive him today
Lord Jesus, I confess that I am a sinner. I believe that you came to the world and you died for me. I accept you this this day to be my lawfully wedded husband, my Lord and personal savior, cleanse my heart from all unrighteousness. In Jesus name. Amen.
